This is the image in full colour and follows the rule of thirds.

Here I made the background black and white and made the red bridge stand out. I did this by firstly duplicating the layer with the image on it and then hiding it. Then I clicked background and went to image on the top then adjustments, black and white clicked auto and then okay. Then i unhid the background and went to select couloured image clicked select colour range. Then I selected the eyedropper tool and clicked on the red bridge and selected the right fuzziness.Then I copy and pasted the selected area then clicked on the coloured layer. Then I hid the background.

The reason I did this is because I thought the audience would prefer it because it helps you focus more on the bridge and shows off the vibrant unusual colour of the bridge against the black and white background whereas before it was a bit drowned out by the other colours in the background. Making the colour stand out and the background aswell as using the rule of thirds makes your eyes immediately focus on it and away from the more boring background. I also think it makes it look quite mysterious and more exciting and it makes it look quite retro with a modern hint with the burst of red on the bridge.

I cropped theseimages to fit the rule of thirds because we have learned that the main object should be in the left or right third becase it makes it look more interesting and also our natural instinct is that our eyes are drawn to the thirds of the photograph.

The rule of thirds is that the main object/person should be in the left or right third of the photo because it draws your eyes in to it and generally makes a better photo.

What makes a good Photo (Framing)

What Makes a Good Photo

To take a photo you firstly you put in the battery and the memory card. Then you can choose to attach a lens if you wish to take closer photos and you could choose to use a tripod for stability. Then you press the shutter button to take the photo and then attach a USB cable to the USB port and export the photos onto the computer and from there you can put them online.
